When you’ve put your whole life into your business or your career, it’s easy to forget that you should be living your life – not just surviving it day by day. I’m Angela Low, the local owner of The Growth Coach of Central California, and I opened this business because I want to help empower business owners and other professionals to build more successful businesses and more balanced lives with professional Business Coaching.
The Growth Coach of Central California is a locally owned and operated business, but, on an international level, The Growth Coach is the largest provider of affordable group coaching workshops. Coaches around the world offer group and one-on-one coaching for sales professionals, managers, management teams, self-employed professionals and more. Other services include remote coaching delivered via phone and web, coaching for special projects, business valuation services, sales mapping and more. The Growth Coach of Central California serves Fresno, Clovis, Visalia, Selma, Exeter, Porterville, Kingsburg, Madera and the surrounding areas.
I grew up in the Visalia area and moved to Hawaii after graduation to work in several non-profit industries. I moved back to California in 1997 and worked in advertising and marketing until I opened The Growth Coach. I started my career in the broadcast industry and worked my way into print and digital marketing. While working in the print and digital marketing division of AT&T, I often found herself helping business owners market their business to the local community. I also worked for Thomson Reuters, where I developed high-end digital marketing business plans and helped develop social media campaigns for attorneys and local businesses in the central California area. I earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing and public relations from Ashford University and I have three children – Kelsey Low, who works alongside me as a Growth Coach, Christian Low and Jenna Low.
I’ve worked with many small and medium-sized business owners throughout my career and, I’d say, a large percentage of them didn’t have a plan. They work IN the business instead of ON the business. I would ask them what they’d hope to get out of a particular marketing campaign and they didn’t have a business plan for next month or next year, let alone five years from now. I grew up in a family business and it was all-consuming. We all worked in the business and, while it taught us an amazing work ethic, there was no balance. That’s what motivated me to get into business and sales coaching.
When you start a business, you do it because you’re passionate about something and you want the flexibility and freedom of being on your own. Instead many business owners find themselves slaves to their businesses. They’re stuck. I’m hoping, as a Growth Coach, I can help those business owners put together a long-term plan based on their individual situation and then take action to meet their personal and professional goals. It’s all about creating a strategy for improvement.
I’m also pleased to have my daughter, Kelsey, working at my side. Kelsey grew up in Visalia and graduated from Point Loma University with a degree in Communications. Throughout college and after graduation, she worked for AT&T as a sales consultant and, later, a retail sales manager. In the fall of 2014, she moved to Costa Rica to teach English, became fluent in Spanish, and then continued teaching in Guatemala and Peru. After a traveling throughout Europe, Kelsey returned to Costa Rica where she managed social media and online network for multiple businesses before coming home to California. Kelsey brings her unique international experience to The Growth Coach to help clients – especially those who are Spanish speaking – grow their businesses, attract and work alongside millennials, and empower the women in their workforce.
As a Growth Coach, I am certified in The Strategic Mindset coaching process, which adheres to the standards, practices and policies that the International Coaching Federation has set forth in their Code of Professional Standards and Ethics. . At The Growth Coach, we help people put together a strategy that gets them in the right direction and then we hold them accountable for their progress. Kelsey Low | Business Coach
Kelsey Low was born in Visalia, California. She was the fourth graduating class at El Diamante High School in 2009. After high school, she attended Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Communications. During University and after graduating, Kelsey worked at AT&T as a sales representative in corporate telecommunications for 2 years until she was promoted to Retail Store Manager in San Diego. She enjoyed sales management and investing into people individually to reach their professional goals.
In 2014, Kelsey decided to leave at&t to teach English in Costa Rica, continuing her love for people and culture. She worked in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Peru teaching English as a Second Language to adults and business professionals seeking to advance their career. Between contracts, Kelsey also traveled and visited Eastern Europe, Chile, Northern Europe and North Africa.
While living in Latin America, she learned Spanish from the native people and has a strong passion to the Latin community in the Central Valley. Kelsey has a wide variety of exposure to cultures, business styles and communication. Her passion for teaching, managing, and sales is why she has found her purpose as a business coaching and sales coaching professional.
