I was working in my yard this past weekend and it hit me.  The nature of all living things, plant and animals alike, is to grow, advance and develop.  Nature loves growth, shuns stagnation.  Even the survival of the fittest is based on every living thing's desire to grow and thrive.  Shouldn't every business owner try to grow and improve?  I think so.  However, the reality is many owners do not and suffer the consequences.  If you do not continually grow your knowledge, mindsets, skills and habits, your business will not grow.

In my sixteen years of business coaching, without a doubt in my mind, those clients experiencing the most success and personal satisfaction were the ones open to learning, growing and evolving.  The ones willing to read books, listen to educational Cd's, participate in business coaching, spend time collaborating with other owners, attend industry events, etc.  These successful owners always invested in themselves and their future.  Do you?  Are you regularly feeding your mind with positive ideas, new strategies and perspectives, and the insights of others who have "been there, done that, and shared their journey?"  If not, why not?  Growth should be natural to you.

Again, as I was working in my yard (weeding, watering, fertilizing, trimming, etc.), it became very apparent to me that nature is all about growth.  Weeds seemed to grow best in my yard.  They are opportunistic little devils.  I also witnessed the new grass seed I planted growing rapidly in a mere few days.  Bushes and trees were sprouting new green growth.  Even damaged trees and crowded-out trees were trying to survive by sending out new growth to reach beyond the competition and soak up the sun.  In nature, if something is not growing, it probably won't survive for long.  Again, nature and business are both about survival of the fittest.  The weak, the small, the stagnate will be weeded out or crowded out.  You and your business are no different.

Even great athletes get this "need to grow or fall behind" concept.  They know continual growth and refinement are essential to stay competitive.  They are always looking for more empowering mindsets, beliefs and approaches.  Even Tiger Woods, one of the all-time best golfers, has a coach.  Tiger is always looking to grow, advance and develop.  Again, why wouldn't you?

We take the whole concept of growth quite seriously at The Growth Coach.  In fact, we chose our name very carefully since our coaching process is all about growing the owner, their business, and the richness of their personal life.

I have always fed my mind with positive wisdom from resources at www.Nightingale.com and www.Amazon.com.  While I have spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years, my return has been twenty fold, at a minimum.  For free Growth Coach resources, you can click on our book, wealth creation newsletter, or Earn More, Work Less newsletter.

Please trust me.  Your business is where it is and how it is because of your past thinking and actions.  Unless you expand your knowledge, mindsets, skills and habits, your business can not expand.  You and your business will stagnate.  Chose growth.
