My kids are growing like weeds, Kelsey at age 13 and Matthew at age 9. They are constantly outgrowing their clothes and shoes.  In fact, my wife took Kelsey gym-shoe shopping the other day. Kelsey liked the $90 shoes, my wife convinced Kelsey to like the $40 shoes or learn to appreciate going bare-foot.

Upon hearing this, it reminded me about the hundreds of business owners I have coached and counseled over the years who outgrew their business visions but never bothered to buy into a bigger version. They never went shopping for a larger business vision until they went through our coaching process. Up until that time, they were somewhat complacent to grow their business to a certain size, certain number of locations, certain number of customers and employees, a certain level of personal income, etc.  Somewhere along the journey, they grew into that vision and the clothes and shoes became tight and downright restrictive. At the same time, their headaches and hassles grew and they fell into a "vision comfort zone" they never climbed out of ... until challenged by our Strategic Mindset coaching process.

Have you outgrown your business vision and just don't know it?  Does the vision feel too tight and restricting? Is it time to go shopping for a much larger vision?

To take your business to a much higher level of success and performance, you must expand your vision of what is achievable.  Do not restrict your growth by small thinking. Instead of serving 100 customers, imagine serving 1,000 or 1,000,000 customers. Instead of producing 10,000 widgets, why not produce 100,000 widgets. Instead of personally earning $200,000 a year, imagine earning $1,000,000 or more. Why not?

Don't be afraid to dream big once again. You did it before. Have the courage to write down an updated, upgraded, and Technicolor vision on steroids. Don't worry about how you will achieve it at this point, the "how to" will materialize if you have a vision that excites your soul once again. With technology, alliances, innovation and gigantic emerging markets, tremendous leverage is always available.

All you have to do is use your imagination and start thinking and believing BIG once again! Ask yourself, "How could we grow our business 10 times? How could we go from a 1,000 customers to a 1,000,000 customers?" Ask your employees these same questions as well.   Ask your business advisers.  Also, don't be afraid to ask another critical question, "How can I increase my personal earnings 10 times?" Write down all these ideas - do not judge any of them at this stage. Just let the ideas flow. By enlarging your vision, you expand your mind and your strategies. 

Be confident, you grew dramatically before.  Your business today is probably 10 times as big as it once was. Therefore, you already know how to grow a business 10 times its size. If you already grew it 10 times as large once, why couldn't you grow it 10 times as large again? YOU CAN! You must think abundance and opportunity, not scarcity and risk. You must also realize the mindsets, strategies, assumptions and habits that got you to your present plateau need to be enlarged to get you to the next plateau. Nothing is holding you back from much greater success and satisfaction except your limiting beliefs and confining vision. Think big and believe big!  Take out a note pad and pen and spend half a day dreaming about and shopping for a much larger business vision.
