I spent the day at The Growth Coach with Phill Manker. It was a great session. I learned that I need to take time every day to focus on myself, on how to work on my business reather than for my business.
Phill did a great job of working with me to see what is important to me and what I need to do to make myself more productive. He puts the responsibility on you and he has the accountability portion to make sure you are doing what you need to do.
I would recommend The Growth Coach to any business owner that is looking to own a business rather than their business owning them.

I want to take a minute to speak about the 1st of an 8 part curriculum. In my line of work, goals and dreams are a big influence of if individuals make it in the business or not. The problem lies when individuals have the dreams, but don't have the systems in place to follow-up what needs to be done to accomplish those dreams.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked into the room that first day but was pleasantly surprised by all the tools that were given to me. Dear Phil,
I am writing to you today to talk about the value that I have gathered from participating in the Growth Coach Program, taught by yourself. Last month we completed the 3rd Quarter Session and as I look back at what I am planning quarter by quarter I can see a steady progress in my strategic mindset as well as my actions contributing to be a business owner working "on" my business vs. "in" my business.
As you are well aware it is most difficult for small business owners or 2nd Level Managers to separate the strategic from the tactical as where we are in our career and business life journey necessitates acting both strategically and tactically at times. However, in participating in the Growth Coach I have the ability to have a quarterly strategic plan that is created from taking time out of my busy life to think and plan strategically.
The other added benefit is from getting input from the other business owners in the course. Since we are all at different places on our journey (to an extent) it is nice to get tips from people who have already gone through a particular challenge as well as it feels good to provide the same to others for areas that I have already accomplished success.
I would recommend this course for every business owner who really is looking to grow their business or simply grow their time for themselves while maintaining the business. I would also recommend this course for any mid level manager who needs to learn how to manage other managers by looking at themselves more strategically and putting the processes in place to ensure the tactical running of the business is happening with their direct reports. As a senior leader in a corporation I have found that middle level managers have the hardest time with that transition more so than anything else.
